TC & Liz

These two are in love. It’s obvious the second you meet them. The way they look at each other and make each other laugh – it was a such a treat to get to photograph their Engagement Session. We shot their session at a park right by their home on one of the coldest days EVER. I seriously think my fingers were ready to fall off by the end. But TC and Liz were totally into it and even braved the cold with no coats for most of the shoot. You ladies rock! Here are some of my favs.

A couple fun ones at the playground.

This last one is one of my favorites.

TC and Liz, thank you so much for braving the freezing cold weather and for being so completely adorable and fun to work with!

Lucy is 2!

Today is little Miss Lucy’s birthday. I can’t believe she’s 2 years old already!! It just blows my mind. I want her to stop growing. She is such a girly, sweet little girl and I just adore her. Happy birthday little Loo!! We all love you so much!

Here are just a couple of cute shots I snapped of a snuggly birthday girl.

Zoe.

Later today we are saying good-bye.

About a week and a half ago we found out that our dog Zoe has a very aggressive form of cancer throughout her body. Just in the past week the disease has progressed so quickly, that this morning we decided we can’t allow her to endure anymore.

Over the past 9 years of her life, Zoe has brought us nothing but happiness and love. She has her own special relationship with all of us. With me, she knows to park herself right next to me during any meals because I’m always good for some table scraps. Coming home to my parents house is going to feel so different when she’s not standing at the door wagging her tail and nuzzling her head into me asking me to pet her. My only regret is not having more photos of her, but at some point when she was a puppy she became so scared of the camera just the sound of me putting in a new memory card has her sneaking out of the room. Poor puppy.

People who don’t have pets don’t seem to understand the devastation of losing a member of the family, but that’s exactly what this is, just devastating. She will always be in our hearts and will be sorely missed. We love you Zoe. You’ve been the best pup in the world.

Giving is Awesome!

I am honored to be a part of Giving is Awesome and hope you take the time to read on and nominate someone you feel is truly deserving this holiday season!

_________

You know someone. You know someone who’s experienced a tragedy, is struggling to stay afloat, is raising kids while holding down more than one job, or is volunteering selflessly despite extenuating personal circumstances. You know someone who can’t afford custom photography, but who would cherish it this holiday season. You know someone who deserves a year-round reminder of their family’s spirit, love and beauty.

You know someone. I guarantee it.

I want to know who they are, and I want to give them the chance to experience complimentary custom photography — $1000 worth, to be exact. Whether it’s canvas or albums, prints for Grandma, or a slideshow to watch over and over, it’s in your power to give them the artwork they deserve this holiday season.

Oh, and the best part? The person who nominates the winner receives $200 print credit. What better reason to show some love could there possibly be?

The rules:

* You cannot nominate yourself, and the person nominated must sincerely be incapable of purchasing my services. (Being unable to make mortgage payments for a two-million-dollar-vacation-home in Paris does not qualify as sincere financial need.)

* The nominee must reside in PA. Tell me who you know, what they’re experiencing, and why they deserve my artwork. Please include a way to contact both your nominee and yourself as well.

* You must email me the full story: lauri@laleephotography.com.

The winner will be announced on Christmas Ever — get nominating! I can’t wait to read all of your entries!

Open your heart to someone this holiday season — and thanks for giving me the opportunity to open mine.

With love,

Lauri :-)

Megan & Dan

Megan and Dan had a fabulous wedding at Cescaphe Ballroom in Philadelphia. I knew it was going to be an awesome day after our engagement shoot a few months beforehand where Meg and Dan were totally game for anything and just a ton of fun. Here are a few of my favorites from their amazing wedding day.

I met up with Megan and her adorable bridesmaids at Blue Hair Studio in Huntingdon Valley for some mid-morning beautifying.

Even the little flower girls got to look glamorous for the day!

Stunning!

Meg and Dan left plenty of time for some totally fun and relaxed portraits which made me love them even more! I was lucky to have my good friend Katie from Katie McMenamin Photography shooting their day with me because she is she a fabulous photographer and shooting with her always makes the day extra fun.

I love how Megan’s veil is totally taking flight here and she’s just so chill about it. You rock Meg!

Dan was busting up at the best man’s speech – love it!

Megan and Dan, thank you for being so completely amazing. I wish you two all the happiness in the world!!
