Dan the man

My little brother Dan (Doo) turns 25 today! I can’t believe it. I feel so old! haha. Here are a couple of photos I took of him yesterday for fun!

“Daniel-san, you best Karate still inside…now time let out!”

HAPPY BIRTHDAY DOO! I love you! Oh, and thanks for being such a trooper in the chilly weather on the beach! I hope you liked your post. :-)

Thanksgiving at the beach

This is our first family holiday at the beach and it has been sooo wonderful. I took this during a walk along the beach tonight. A little chilly but so beautiful and relaxing. I’ll be back to the grind on Monday, but until then I’m going to enjoy every second of this fabulous weekend. I hope everyone had a delicious Thanksgiving!!

TWILIGHT!

That’s right. I’m a dork. But I just HAD to see Twilight!! My sister and I had been looking forward to it coming out for what felt like forever, and yesterday afternoon we headed out to the theater for a matinee. (Side note: Since when is a matinee $8?!? Holy cow.) Anywho, I can’t say I totally loved the movie, and Edward needed some serious chapstick, BUT it was still so fun to watch and I’ll definitely be buying it when it comes out on DVD because, like I said, I’m a dork.

Did anyone else see it? Thoughts??

I love movies. It’s so fun to get lost in a good one. There are some awesome looking movies coming out soon that I’m SO psyched about! My two top ones to see right now are Watchmen (first graphic novel I ever read) and The Day the Earth Stood Still (I was obsessed with the original when I was little). And yesterday at Twilight I saw a preview for Push, and that looks pretty awesome too, although a lot like Heroes. Any other good ones I should know about?

Happy Saturday!

A preview and a contest!

First, the preview! Yesterday afternoon I shot TC and Liz’s engagement session and just had to post a quick preview because these two are just the sweetest ever.

More to come soon!

Now the contest. My friend Angie is having a “Great Photo Challenge” contest on her blog, Untangling Photography. So this goes out to all photographers, hobbyists and professionals alike – just click here to go to the site and find out about the Great Photo Challenge and be sure to enter! I know I’m going to – the winner gets a $100 gift certificate to B&H. YAY! The deadline is November 22nd, so go there soon!! :-)

Happy Monday!

Samara & Justin – Engagement

I love these two. They showed up for their engagement session bearing donuts and croissants, how cute is that? Much like every other day, I had just started my diet that day, but decided I already deserved to cheat. I’m pretty sure I ate 3 of the donuts on my drive home. One had blue frosting and sprinkles – how could I resist?

Samara and Justin are two of the warmest, most genuine people I have ever met. They came to the shoot just ready to have fun and be themselves, and I am so excited to be shooting their wedding next August! Here are a few of my favorites from our session.

Samara is a horticulturalist (how cool is that?), so I thought we totally had to get a couple shots by this painted garden door on the right.

I think this next image might be my most favorite from the shoot. I told them to “get excited!” about sitting beneath the sun and the moon, and this is what they did. haha! Cracks me up!

Samara is gorgeous.

Samara and Justin, you are the most fun ever! I can’t wait for your wedding!! :-)
