Shooting what I love – Mikey!

I’ve decided to do a regular post on here that I’m calling “shooting what I love”. It’s going to be shoots that I do just for fun, just for me, to keep things light and fresh and FUN! So this first installment is pretty self-explanatory. I love Mikey – the hubby! And yesterday when he got home from school we went out into our neighborhood for about 45 minutes and took a bunch of fun photos. So here are some from our shoot (isn’t he handsome?!?!).

Being a Bridesmaid :-)

I am sooo excited to be a bridesmaid in Ashley and Francesco’s wedding next September. In fact, not only am I a bridesmaid, but I’m the Matron of Honor (that’s right, I’m a matron – I’m old!) along with our cousin Sam who is the Maid of Honor. It’s going to be such a gorgeous beach wedding followed up by an amazing reception at the Brant Beach Yacht Club. Oh how I wish I could photograph it – but alas, I don’t think jumping out of the bridesmaid lineup to shoot the wedding in my dress is the best idea. ;-)

So here is just a quick snap of the beautiful bride-to-be Ashley along with all of her bridesmaids. Yay us!

A sneak peek & a new outfit

Yesterday I shot Megan and Dan’s wedding, and it was one of the best days ever! Not only are Megan and Dan sooo sweet, but their friends and family are simply amazing. Megan had some of the most adorable bridesmaids I’ve ever met! On the drive home last night I just felt so energized by the whole day, so I thought I would post a quick sneak peek image from the wedding.

How cute are they?!

Later today I am off to Ashley and Cheech’s engagement party. YAY! I’ve been so excited for this party all week and even had my outfit all picked out, until…..Mikey saw it “laying out” this morning and immediately assumed it was dirty laundry and put it in the hamper so it now smells like dirty clothes. Boo! He says that if it’s on the floor it counts as dirty, but I think the floor is totally fair game for a place to “lay out” your outfit for later on today. Right? I’m sooo right. It all works out though because we actually don’t have time to do laundry because our awesome dryer has to run two full cycles to dry anything, so it looks like I get to go out and get something new! YAY! :-)

Have a happy Saturday everyone!!! :-)

Clovers :-)

If you’ve ever checked out my website and read the “About Me” section, you would know that I have a strange talent for finding 4-leaf clovers. I find them everywhere. I’ll just be walking along and BAM! spot one. The best was when I was 12 and I was riding my bike down the street and slammed on my brakes to pick one that I saw out of the corner of my eye in a little clover patch next to the road. Weird. I attribute it to my crazy awesome spacial relations skills. That’s right. In 9th grade I scored mad high on the spacial relations portion of the PSSA test and they suggested I consider aerospace engineering as a future career. Hahaha. Of course I’m terrible at math and science, sooo that didn’t really work out. But my theory is that my crazy awesome spacial relations skills help me to see the shape of the 4-leaf clovers stand out among their little 3-leaf buddies. Whatever, I’m going with it.

Anyway, so today I spent the afternoon in a clover patch, looking for some 4-leaf clovers for my sister Andrea’s booth at Irish Weekend down in Wildwood, NJ this weekend. She is selling all of her beautiful jewelry she designs for her company, Anca Pe’elma, and needed some 4-leaf clovers for some “shamrocks” she cooked up. She rocks. :-) So here is just a quick self-take I took post clover finding adventure. Yay!

Miki & GP: Wedding

Miki and GP are two of the sweetest people I’ve ever met. They planned a small wedding at beautiful Normandy Farm with just their closest family and friends present and it was one of the most love-filled days I’ve ever seen. They are having the full reception this weekend up in Massachusetts where they moved right after the wedding and I’m sure it’s going to be such a blast!

I usually tear up at least once during the weddings I shoot, but this one took the cake! The best part of the whole day was after the ceremony when GP’s mom gave Miki the biggest hug and through her tears of joy said, “He’s been waiting his whole life for you”. Ugh. I nearly lost it!

So here are just a few of my favorite images from their day, starting with Miki’s beautiful bouquet.

How gorgeous is Miki??

Miki & GP – thank you so much for having me photograph your perfect day! Have a wonderful time this weekend!! :-)
